Dr. Alexander Mao

Dr. Mao completed his Bachelor of Medicine in 1993 and continued at the Capital University of Medical Sciences, obtaining his Doctor of Optometry in 1996. This was followed by further graduate studies at the University of Western Ontario and Harvard School of Public Health.  Dr. Mao has a full scope clinical Optometry Practice at the Ivey Eye Institute in London, Ontario where he is also involved in clinical research and education. Dr. Mao is also specialized in low vision rehabilitation and scleral contact lens fitting for irregular corneas. Dr. Mao has authored a number of peer-reviewed papers. He has been an Assistant Professor at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry of University of Western Ontario and an associate Scientist at the Lawson Research Institute.
